I don't have a CoPilot "button" on my taskbar. I've never had it.
Last week, CoPilot started showing up as a comment on the top of every WORD document.

If I rightclick on the copilot button it doesn't give me an option to get rid of copilot from the task bar. I have uninstalled it but every time I select text the irritating icon pops up on my margin. It is seriously interfering with my ability to concentrate.
I have Windows 10 still (tried 11 and didn't like it). I went to settings, typed in the search bar "add or remove program" then clicked on the link, scrolled down to "CoPilot and clicked on the three dots on the right hand side and chose "delete". I got the warning that it would also remove any associated information -- but I hadn't used the stupid AI and didn't intend to ever -- so I said delete everything. My laptop is still running beautifully.
That reply is a copy/paste directly from asking CoPilot, "How do you uninstall CoPilot." That does not work!
Alas. It held such promise. I did as you instructed and found "Microsoft Copilot" as a program (Windows 11) with the option to delete it. I did. Restarted. Opened Word for a blank document, and Copilot was STILL there. I am landlord to a tenant I never accepted who squats and refuses any eviction notice.
