My PC has a 500 MB recovery partition and i still have this error.
Everybody has a 500 MB recovery partition. The update tells you if your free space is sufficient or not.

Windows 10 22h2 security update [KB5034441] fails to install with code: 0x80070643 problem was solved for me with reinstallation of Windows 10 using the Media Creation tool . Took about 5 hours . But the security update that has been giving everyone problems downloaded on the second try . I have , over the last 2 days , been checking for updates to see if it really worked and it appears in the control panel as downloaded . I want to thank that guy who suggested that fix . I did not do a clean install . I kept my files and apps

2024-04-20T09:55:00+00:00 Disappearing icons is usually associated with an incomplete install. You can try this and you may need to reboot more than once. The result should get better as you go. Reboot the computer whilst holding down the shift key. That will force a full reboot. It will take longer than usual and you may need to do this twice but it should fix itself.
If this is a laptop, make sure you are on a hard surface that won't block the fan vents and cause overheating.
If this fails you will probably be having a ram, hard drive or processor issue. For you to be posting this it is probably best to take the box (computer) to a repairer or a knowledgeable friend.

2024-04-19T16:50:01+00:00 With Windows Defender it’s real-time protection you’d turn off. There may be and equivalent in your anti-virus.
Short of a rebuild I don’t know what else to suggest other than living with the update error. Bit of a sledge hammer approach I know, but clearly Microsoft isn’t coming to the rescue on this one.
