we dont have a usb, our printer is wireless, and it still consumes ink And paper
GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.
My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!
End.

2023-09-28T20:16:44+00:00 After a call to Microsoft Tech Support I ~may~ have a resolution to the issue. Solution they gave was as follows:
- Delete the printer from your system
- Do an "update and install" for Windows. As I have Windows 10 this is what I did:
- download the Windows Media Creation Tool
- Close any open programs or files (you may want to have done a backup as well but this method is pretty foolproof)
- Run the tool using the "upgrade this PC now" selection, NOT the create media option.
- After the program has downloaded and verified itself, it will ask you if you want to install Windows and keep your personal files. go ahead and click "Install"
- Your PC will update and restart a few times, but should not have made any visible changes to your desktop or files
- Go to your printer manufacturer, then download and install your printer's software
- Run the installation software from your manufacturer, not Microsoft
This has, so far, worked. This process fixes and repairs any corrupted or missing system files without having to do a complete reinstall. I expect that a Windows update borked something and this fixes whatever the problem is without identifying what the problem was. This process takes a while so make sure to leave time in your schedule.
Never mind, this didn't work either.
