I was so happy because on April 14, 2023, after an update, my HP Printer Laser Jet M553 started acting properly again. I had no more continual pages being printed with “get/ escl/scanner status http http/1.1 Host : localhost”. The honeymoon ended with your most current update on 5/12/23 because it is back to printing pages everyday. This proves to me it is a Microsoft problem not a printer issue. I am extremely disappointed with Microsoft because I would like to hear from them that they are working on a fix for this obvious “bug”. I know I would feel better if they would reach out and let us know they are working on it instead of leaving everyone in limbo like this. I wish I could go back to Windows 10 because I never had any problems with that version. Since this is a Microsoft forum I hope they are listening!

I have an HP computer and a Kyocera Ecosys M2540dw printer

The following did not work for me.

1. Open Settings.
2. Click Bluetooth & Devices.
3. Click Printers & scanners.
4. Scroll down until you get to the "Related settings" category. ...
5. Click the Advanced tab.
6. Remove the check from Show informational notifications for local printers.
7. Click Apply → OK.

In addition, if you have an HP computer, open Services and STOP  the HPPrintScanDoctorService

Then open Task Scheduler, go down to Task Schedular Library/ HP / HP Print Scan Doctor

Select Printer Health Monitor, then from the dropdown Action menu, select disable

Select Pinter Health Monitor Logon, then from the dropdown Action menu, select disable

I avoid it by using the printer on WiFi Direct rather than a cable connection. I have to disconnect from my router, connect to the WiFi Direct on the printer, print, then disconnect the WiFi Direct and reconnect to the router to gain internet back. It's bloody genius to do it this way. It takes little to no time at all and isn't a pain in the butt in the least! ; ) However, using a wireless connection on your printer is like being sober and having an alcoholic lover. Everything will be going along just fine and then all of the sudden they act like they don't even know your name.

Same here- got a new Lexmark laser printer- had it on Wifi but it kept going offline and had to use USB, Now it is printing pages with the GET/eSCL message at the top.

I have the same problem. After a seemingly correct print, the printer will display a check mark indicating a successful print but not return to its "ready" state. After a while, the printer starts making little clicking noises and the next time I try to print I get an error. Sometimes that page with one like (quoted in earlier posts) gets printed all by itself. Sometimes it's at the top of my next print job. Sometimes, the print queue shows 13 or 14 jobs that have already been printed. I was forced to use Epson's Driver Support tool the last time I tried to troubleshoot and got charged $9.99 with no warning! This is a problem on my 4100 and XP-6000.

I also tried clearing the check mark by pressing OK on the control panel. The display seemed to be normal but it did not stop the error message appearing the next time.

The only thing that seems to work is to turn off the printer after a successful print. That restores the state of the printer to "ready". You also have to turn off the printer when you power down or reboot your pc.

I am running Windows 11 on a Dell Inspiron 16 2-1. It's a problem with something Microsoft has done in Windows 11 that printer drivers apparenty know nothing about. I have reported the problem to Epson with no response. The cost in wasted paper is awful and the annoyance is through the roof.
