(KB5039211) refuses to install

2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039211)

This update will not successfully apply, goes through the usual dialogs only to fail on restart and undo the changes.

I've tried SFC and DISM with no results.

Any help is appreciated.

    It's enabled.

    I was able to install the other June update (KB5040370) and like 6 others in May. Windows Update appears to be working in other cases, just not this one.

    Just for kicks, I tried to update on a brand new PC with Win 10 Pro installed a week ago. No other apps. This new install did NOT create a Recovery partition.

    Fail, Fail, and more Fail.

    Can't even install or enable a RE partition.

    This is a major Microsoft issue.

    This issue is here for years ! Its always same scenario : MS release update, many people receive error... And they waiting, waiting, waiting... till someone else found the solution. Best fun is to call MS tech support with this issue :D In the past they gave me awesome advices 1. restart pc, 2. install in save mode 3. run troubleshoot and the best one reinstall whole OS :D :D :D

    It is very unfortunate that such a solution did not work in your case. In my case, all these services were disabled and after enabling them, everything installed instantly without problems.

    Have you checked to see if your WinRE system is even running and turned on? Is the path to the disk where the recovery partition is located in the system correct? If this feature is disabled, you won't need this, but if enabled, everything should be listed correctly.

    You can check it in the console by command: reagentc /info
