Hello, after updating win 11 23H2 to 24H2 several "computers" are disappeared under the "network"pane in windows explorer.
The day before updating, all computers were attached to my network and visible in windows file explorer.
After update to 24H2 they were gone!
I did see that after updating the option for media streaming were turned off.
I put The media streaming option on again, but that was not the solution.

Or some settings have been changed by 24H2 that weren't reversed when you got back to 23H2.

Going to Linux is something else. See all the programs you want to use have a Linux variant.
Well I finally got in touch with Microsoft direct who took control of laptop and switched off my wifi so I lost connection completely. Then I used my wife's computer to find a fix from Microsoft, they got it working again so I tried again and they just reset it back to 23H2 and now it all works except the bit I wanted fixed, I still cannot access my network devices, so that's 2 days wasted (End of Rant).
It was working on 23H2 so now I have to figure out how I did it last time.
try to go to network and sharing center and find adapter settings to select your network card.
Have you changed in group policies (gpedit) the unsecure guest login to activate?
on some computers this helped to see network neighbourhood.
By the way yesterday I installed another PC with a new iso from the MS website as inplace upgrade and it worked without issues. In addition I could revert all changes I made in gpedit to the default values with my other computers where I had issues in the past months. To me, it seems that MS has solved the issue with the latest iso. May be you try another inplace upgrade with a new iso over your existing 11 24H2?
Another issue I have seen ist that with Ryzen CPUs I needed to switch of virtualisation in Bios (SVM and IOMMU if enabled), to do an succesful inplace upgrade and after its done, enable SVM again. This might only be valid for Asus BIOS and mainboards as with an Intel PC from Asus it doesn't matter if virtualisation was enabled when doing an inplace upgrade
Thanks Blenchi88. I tried to do that but I don't even have the options you suggest available, all I have is this. Is there a way I can remove 24H2 and revert back to a system that works? If not I will switch to linux.

One of the reasons why we're getting difficulties now is the new enhanced security measurements. They sure don't make our life easy.
I can access my NAS now after putting up "secure signing" on my NAS, the NTLM stuff, I told you about and enabling NETBIOS in the network settings.
I believe it's more secure, but it's quite a challenge to deal with it.
Sharing drives is one part, but some programs just don't run in the latest Windows 11. I'm having troubles with my VPN provider as well, as their app doesn't even install in my latests Windows version.
BTW did you try the NETBIOS settings ?
