It worked this time, but last time it seemed to not. Perhaps I didn't run it as admin the first time.

I deleted these (make a backup Profiles.reg first):

    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1001
    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1002.bak
    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1003.bak

Going to reboot now, wish me luck!

Ok I will do that and report back.

    This command didn't work:

    • reg save "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" c:\profiles.dat

You mean you got any errors when running that command?

A while back I switched from a local user to a domain user, that must have caused this.

I think I should delete the:

    S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1001

    S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1002.bak

    S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1003.bak

    S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1004

These all have a ProfileImagePath of c:\users\james

    This was my local account

    As opposed to c:\users\jmeece

    This is my domain account

What do you mean by 'reg save command did not work'?

After exporting ProfileList, delete these three subkeys:

    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1001
    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1002.bak
    • S-1-5-21-4051004881-2686442117-1985146146-1003.bak
