Hello, I'm having the same problem 0x8007001f when trying to install win 11 24h2.

    setupact.log

    prompt.png

I would be very grateful if you could help me.

    Hi Alex,

    1. Please backup the registry using Acelogix RegBak.
    2. Open Regedit.exe and go to:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    1. Expand the above branch and delete the subkey named S-1-5-21-31256043-2794641436-1706062902-1001
    2. Rerun the Windows 11 24H2 setup.

Ramesh sir, you appear to be the goat at getting this pesky error sorted. I have had the same frustrating few days trying to work this out. You'd be saving a life if you can help me.

I believe this is the information you've been asking the others for:

    Reg profile list

    https://1drv.ms/i/c/98e676a7d205e2db/ETGY0WmdS1pPmf8TB7Us5XIBkxNACB6_lcms2FQbm45oFw?e=KHn2yv

Please let me know if you need any other info.

    @Riley Artemis

    There are no invalid profiles.

I'd suggest starting a new thread and sharing the following log file in the new thread.

    C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log

    Hi,

Please backup the registry using Acelogix RegBak.

Delete these three subkeys from the Profilelist key:

    • S-1-5-21-919165976-2110095816-35271489-1008
    • S-1-5-21-919165976-2110095816-35271489-1004
    • S-1-5-21-919165976-2110095816-35271489-1004.Bak

    **@**Kim Goo Ho

I have the same issue, here is my log file.

    setupact.log

These two SIDs are invalid, as per the log you shared.

    Open Regedit.exe and go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Export the branch to a REG file

    Delete these two subkeys:

    • S-1-5-21-4249010491-370991278-3619262684-1010
    • S-1-5-21-4249010491-370991278-3619262684-1012

    Re-run the Windows setup.
