Using Phone Link on computer it creates a group in chat - and does not send message to recipient

Phone is up to date

Computers are both up to date with MS update

BUT

Using Phone Link when I send a message to one of the people I message often rather than send message it creates a group. (see below)

On my phone it then shows as a group chat - which I can't edit

Works fine on my phone - but not on Phone Link - on both computers I own. Screenshot of how it ends up below.

I also have quite a few messages where both the name of recipient and my phone number comes up - just a bit of a pain.

I'd really appreciate any help on this

Thanks heaps

Gary

I've had the issue for months but today it finally updated and is working fine! It seems like everyone else had updated theirs but mine was still saying I had the latest version (1.25011.56.0). Today it finally changed to 1.25012.107.0.

I'm unsure why it took Microsoft so long to fix something that was an obvious concern for people, but I'm glad they did eventually.

Trust this works for everyone. Does anyone else have their personal number next to a contact after messaging??

I have just updated to version 1.25012.100.0 and it seems to work now. I have replied to two messages and it stays in the same thread.

Hmm, I may have spoken too soon. I just had my instance (V1.25011.56.0) show two 2-person groups for otherwise single person chats... ie. not just one such group, but now two such groups, each with some of the related messages inside. šŸ™ƒ

FTR I am in Australia and its offering no updates.
