Also, to clear things up, a TPM (trusted platform module), simply explained, stores cryptographic keys (like your BitLocker recovery key) in a secure part of your device (usually inside the motherboard).

As mentioned before, I do have Windows 11 Home Edition, version 22H2 which needs to be updated, but how do I update to the 24H2 in a simple way, what I have read so far, looks really difficult....sorry....not a computer geek...lol.

This error can occur if you don't have a proper TPM 2.0.

First, could you go to the Start Menu, type tpm.msc, push enter, and then take a screenshot of what you see?

This is my first time asking a question here, so please have patience: like most I have seen, we are having problems updating Windows 11 Home. My version like many others is WINDOWS 11 HOME EDITION, 22H2., which of course, get the error: Your Version of Windows has reached end of Service......" I get online support from Office Depot and they have not heard of this.

In short, HOW DO I SIMPLY INSTALL THE NEWER VERSION WHICH IS 24H2? Is there a simple way to do it please, not really tech savy, need simplest way to do this, thank you so very much, any help is appreciated.

If you already have a valid license for Windows 10 Pro, then you can rest assured, Windows 11 will be free to you.

To upgrade to Windows 11, version 24H2, you can use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, the Windows 11 ISO, or the Media Creation Tool. All three of these options will get you to Windows 11, version 24H2.

To use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant and then run it. You should see some prompts telling you about Windows 11 and what it'll install. Let it download and install 24H2.

To use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool, download the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool, and run the MCT. Once it finishes loading, push "Upgrade this PC Now". Let the MCT install the Windows 11 installation files, and then let it check for updates, and then let it install Windows 11.

To use the Windows 11 ISO, download the Windows 11 ISO, (you can find it here, scroll down to where you see ISO for Windows 11 x64 devices), mount it, and then run setup.exe (if you see a UAC prompt, push yes). Follow the prompts on-screen and then let setup.exe update and install Windows 11, 24H2.

All of these steps will get you to 24H2 and will take a while to install. It's best to do this at night when you're not doing anything important. Just make sure to save your files before you start.
