Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Eventually I got it working for my Brother DCP-T420W, more or less. Fo those who are still facing this issue, Below is how I got the drivers working.

1. Uninstall all brother software including iPrintScan and drivers from control panel and use Uninstall tool from brother website to remove the drivers.

2. Download and install iPrintScan

3. Once iPrintScan is installed run it and it should not show any machines (donot add machines just yet)
4. Download the Printer Driver from Brother website and install it. It should be a quiet install but you can modify the "dpinst.xml" file and remove quietInstall tag to get the wizard appear.

5. Once printer driver is installed download "Full Driver & Software Package", double click it to get the files extracted into "Y20A_C2_UW_PP-inst-H1" folder but cancel the installation.

6. Use 7zip to extract "Y20A_C2_UW_PP-inst-H1\Msi\ScannerUtilityInstaller.msi" and you should get a new folder within the Msi folder named "ScannerUtilityInstaller" with a file named "BRSCUTIL.EXE".
7. Run the "BRSCUTIL.EXE" and select the correct dpi (for me it was 1200x1200)
8. Once the installation is completed you can add the Printer/machine in iPrintScan (Make sure it is connected via USB) and you should have your printer and scanner working in iPrintScan.

Note: This process has only installed the printer for USB connectivity. Later I tried to add the network printer after configuring the printer through it's management page and connecting to Wifi but the Print service does not work. If anyone know how to get the Print service working in iPrintScan please share.

I never scan from device, always from the laptop, and this is what stopped working a few months ago until I found the iPrint&Scan fix

For me, this option didn't work either. I can't scan from device to laptop, neither with Control Center4 nor with Brother iPrint&Scan. I have two laptops, one with Windows 11 Pro(24h2) and one with Windows 10Pro. I can't scan from device on either. Printing and scanning from laptop works fine on both.

I was able to finally scan again by downloading and installing the Brother iPrint&Scan app from the Brother web site. Windows Scan app mentioned by other users did not work for me.

Go to Brother support web site, type in your model, choose your operating system, and one of the software packages available to download will be iPrint and Scan

After first installing, it will only show the machines for which you have the scanner driver installed, (which is the problem here , it does not get installed by the regular driver package) but you have the option to add a machine, and it will find your machine on the network.

I don't know why Brother support does not tell callers about this!!!
