Hi All,
I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.
Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Nancy

Fix For MF Scan Utility Failures Windows 11 24H2 - Canon Community
Having same issue over multiple devices running on Windows 11 24H2.
When windows 10 devices had Brother scanner driver installed and working perfectly fine, after upgrading them to windows 11 doesn't cause any issue, in fact it's still working on Windows 11 24H2.
But let's say some devices, we have installed fresh copy of Windows 11 24H2 due to some reason and then tried to install Brother printer full driver package installation, only scanner driver failed to get installed.
If anyone find any loophole to workaround, please post here to help other.
Microsoft/Windows - get it resolved... Or Brother need to find a new solution...
Ditto here. Just bought a new WIN 11 computer with 24H2 installed. Downloaded and installed the Brother software to the new computer. Went to scan a document to no avail. Ran troubleshooter which told me the scanner drivers failed to install. Went through several installations and removals trying different things before finding this post. Nothing worked so far. I might give the scanner app a try.
End result, my reliable multi-function printer/scanner no longer scans. Uhg
Update: I was able to download the MS Windows Scan app and scan a document with it. But the app is very limited (i.e., will not scan both sides of a double sided document).
This is why I still have my old computer and will just have to resort to using it for scanning since it is still on WIN 10 and works.
Since the update my Twain driver is missing from Paperport for my Brother ADS 2700W and I am forced to use the scanner dialog box and that is a truly terrible and time consuming experience compared to what I was used to prior to the Windows Update.
I have the same problem with a Brother MFC9970CDW and a brand new Dell XPS8960 that is running Windows 11 24H2. After a long and difficult driver installation, all of the Brother drivers installed except for the Scanner (Driver) which is showing as failed. When I go to Device Manager, it shows the driver as installed and working. I compared the install to and older XPS8930 running and older version of Windows 11 and all the driver files are the same.
I followed the suggestion below and installed the Windows Scanner app which recognized the scanner and allows me to scan. Temporary solution, until the problem is resolved. Brother notes this as an issue on their website.
