Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Thank you for your detailed report regarding the tyranical 24H2 WIN Update. Yes, like I've reveal, it is working CRAZY by me.

It is resetting all me settings, especially my Photography. I have Adobe Photoshop, the best app for photography, and windows

RESET just like so arbitrarily back to Windows Photo Viewer! Naturally I can't work with MS Viewer. So I make default app

back to Adobe Photoshop.

I think I will reinstall WIN 10, OR OR I will bloody get rid of this whole MS TRASH and acquire Apple Mc Intosch!

That will be a bloody expensive proposition, because all MS equipment must go trash. No, you cannot simply rewrite

Apple OS over Windows, You must purchase all new computer, Lapton, everything from Windows goes to the garbage!

On the same token, but I cannot be working CRAZY with Windows 24H2. That is ****. I hate HATE MS Windows,

the worst bloody OS on the planet. MS was actually NEVER very much good, Maybe WIN 7, that was good. WIN 8

was JUNK a FRACE. Win 10 not bad. Well, good luck with your rollback to 23H2. I **** on MS Windows!!!!!!!!

Worse goes to worst!!!
Since the first, my fault, desired upgrade to 24H2 in December and its snail operation, i succeeded to roll back with Windows upgrade to 23H2.

Everyday checking that 24H2 was NOT upgrading, and reading with attention this post answers.

Though it was showing every day that 24H2 was ready to install, but i DIDNT CLICK on downloas and install.

Unfortunately yesterday, I noticed that my PC asked for reboot and found that it was about to finalize 24H2 install after this reboot!!

It did it by itself, or MS changed something that 24H2 upgrade DOES NOT NEED the user acceptance.

Once upgraded, still the same problem, machine takes TWICE more time to be ready!!!

IMPORTANT:

• I asked to roll back to 23H2 and deinstall 24H2. It did it, but after the next reboot in 23H2, it then starts to download again 24H2 with NO prompt at all.
• I restored an ACRONIS disk backup from two days before the upgrade, went fine, BUT ... after a couple of minutes, it then starts to download 24H2 with no prompt.

- NEW:

I also restored an ACRONIS Disk (C:) Backup one week earlier than the automatic move to 24H2, everything back to 23H2. BUT ... 10 min later, windows upgrade decided to load and install 24H2 without any promp to me?!? ****

I just wonder if anyone else got this new tyrannic behavior of MS??

I am pretty much upset, and then no other choice than staying with this snail-speed 24H2 ☠️😱💩

WOW! U need to do all that and back in the 90s you just turn on and all works well after updates. I cant believe Microsoft is literally forcing customers, especially the non computer savy ones to suffer through these issues. People that are tech savy can probably update drivers on their manufactuerers website, others will not know how to do so. I just cant believe Microsoft is literally making all our computers slow, unpleasant to use and unlike any other Windows I have ever used. SO MANY BACKGROUND PROCESSES. Microsoft I think has been hacked and doesnt want to tell the public and they scramble to make patches and bug fixes which actually make things worse as they have no clue whats going on themselves.

I literally will never buy a Microsoft windows product ever again if this is how updates are going to be. LETS GO APPLE IOS! never had issues with their computers operating systems and updates like this. So sad to see Microsoft not be able to deliver a proper update that actually enhances my computer rather than negatively affects it or infects it. Is Bill Gates creating computer and real life viruses like those conspiracy theorists say?

As the one who started this thread, I'm amazed and shocked at the number of replies. The 24H2 update is a huge issue affecting a lot more people in more ways than I realized. I have discovered a hypothesis about what is going on. This doesn't necessarily explain everything all of you are experiencing but it does speak to how deep and pervasive the programming issue is here.

While elements of my computer operation have improved after recent updates to 24H2 which others have not experienced, I still have problems. The biggest one is that everything starts going very slow and I can't use the computer. When this happens, the disk is being 100% used yet I'm not doing anything that would call for a lot of disk usage.

The culprit turns out to be a System process. Guess what that system process is. It is none other than ntoskrnl.exe. That's NT the backbone of Windows going back to Win7 I believe. This means that the 24H2 update was not coded correctly to integrate with NT itself. There is clearly a conflict here and when it triggers, it causes things to happen. In my case, it's extreme disk usage. For someone else, it could manifest in a different way. This could literally cause a long list of different problems that can't be explained which all stem from the same cause... the very backbone code under Windows not being correctly aligned with the 24H2 update.

It's time for Microsoft to rebuild its core Windows code. 24H2 was the straw that broke the camels back. One too many updates without fixing fundamental issues in Windows core. That is my hypothesis.
