Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That is a problem many people report with the drivers that Windows Updates tries to install, if that update is continually failing, then the best option is to use to official Microsoft Show/Hide Tool to hide that driver update to stop Windows continually trying to install that driver.

I have the same error on a Lenovo TP-490 laptop. Why doesn't the Microsoft Development team test and verify these updates before pushing them out?? ... and after so many complaints, immediately push out a fix (not like the one on this thread that gives a Windows Security error, so you don't know if you can trust it). Gosh..., such incompetence!!

    Craig,

I'm getting the same error but when I check the driver update history I see that it has installed successfully multiple times since Nov 25, 2024. Maybe we should just try and cancel the update? I posted this to Dave to see his response as well. The link he sent doesn't appear to do anything.

I'm getting the same error, but when I check the update history for drivers I see it has installed numerous times successfully, going as far back as a month ago, 11/25/24. Why does it keep trying to reinstall then? The link does not seem to do anything either. Please advise next steps. Thank you.

I had the same issue and Show/Hide did not pick up the update. I ended up running SFC /Scannow and it took care of the issue. The Dolby update no longer shows up in the update list.
