Hello,

I had a recent windows update on 15th January 2025. I have an update failure showing for - Dolby - SoftwareComponent - 3.30702.720.0 - Install Error - 0x8007013

Anyone else experienced this or any advise as to how to resolve?

I have tried running the updates again but get the same result.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That is a problem many people report with the drivers that Windows Updates tries to install, if that update is continually failing, then the best option is to use to official Microsoft Show/Hide Tool to hide that driver update to stop Windows continually trying to install that driver.

    I investigated and found a Dolby APO Software Device (HSA) listed on my T14 G5 laptop. My T14 G5 does have the Dolby software, but I haven't experienced any problems with it on that machine. However, my T14 G1 doesn't appear to have any Dolby software installed, according to the system information. I've been able to hide the Windows update for now, but I plan to investigate further based upon your suggestion.

    I didnT resolved this problem the only way to relesolved it is go back to windows 10 .

    NOTICE WRITING IN CAPS SO YOU'ALL WILL SEE IT: AS A COMPUTER SOFTWARE & HARDWARE PERSON I WANT TO SAY HOW I FIXED THIS ISSUE ON BOTH OF MY LENOVO THINPAD T14 LAPTOPS. I WENT INTO DEVICE MANAGER AND WENT TO SOFTWARE COMPONENTS AND FOUND SOMETHING CALLED DOLBY SOMETHING. I UNINSTALLED IT, RESTARTED MY COMPUTER, DID AN UPDATE AND IT NEVER SHOWED THIS UPDATE AGAIN. I ALSO SAW THAT IT HAD BE DOWNLOADED BEFORE A FEW TIMES. THIS FIXED IT ON BOTH THINKPADS. SHOWHIDE SOFTWARE DID NOT WORK BECAUSE IT DID NOT SHOW THE DOLBY SOFTWARE SO I COULD NOT HIDE IT. ANYHOW GIVE IT A TRY. IT DID NOT COME BACK INTO MY DEVICE MANAGER WHEN I HIT, 'SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES' EITHER.
