I tried booting up Linux off of a pre-set up thumb drive and now my PC is getting the INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error

Whenever I boot up my PC I get a blue screen with the already mentioned error code on the screen. My PC then automatically restarts and brings me into recovery mode. I only have 6 options and the only option that actually does anything at all is the command prompt.

In case it's important, the other options in troubleshooting are: startup repair, UEFI firmware settings, system restore, uninstall updates, and system image recovery. When pressing startup repair it just tells me that it couldn't repair my PC. Selecting system restore, it tells me that I must specify which Windows installation to restore, the rest just dont do anything.

Messing around in the cmd prompt, I typed in chkdsk, and it says that the volume is in use by another process near the beginning of the assessment. Another command is tried was "bootrec/rebuildbcd" and it says that total identified windows installations is 0.

From here I've been lost on what exactly I should do after researching this problem online, the only things im able to do on my PC are using the cmd prompt and open the BIOS systems, which is from Omen, and is basically nothing like ive ever seen online in other BIOS systems.

Can someone help me boot up my PC normally again? Hoping to get this problem fixed before I choose to take it to get repaired by a professional, if anyone could spare some help, please, thank you, and have a nice day.

Okay, So delete all disk 1 only disk 1 will be left as disk unallocated you select and next.

    At this point let's just get rid of all the files and install fresh, it's not that important to go through all this hastle

    Hi ,

    I had the impression that this error might occur, unfortunately it will not be possible to perform the installation while keeping the files on this drive.

    Option 2 would be to use another SSD and install Windows there and access the old SSD and copy the files.

    You can even try to copy files from your old SSD using the prompt, but you would need an external HD and it may be blocked by BitLocker. We can try to partition the SSD, but if it is blocked by BitLocker, it will give the same error.

    Hi ,

    You will do the following: you will delete disk 1 partition 1 and disk 1 partition 2, select disk 1 partition 3 and press next.

    It will recreate the boot and install Windows on top, but keeping the files. Remember, it is possible that the files on this unit will fail, as I mentioned before.
