Feeds / Search application using all of the ram

I noticed that the PC started running slow today and opened task manager to see that System, Feeds (Search application) is using CPU and Disk quite heavily and as much ram that it can to pin it to 100%.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Update: Windows crashed and i restarted, same application started to ramp up again so i ended it.

Looking into events now.

gobbled up all 32 GB of RAM and took to eat the ssd disk, gobbled up 100 GB there too! My ssd drive is failing :(

This process is killing the ssd drive!

buddy, you should **not** have Virtual Memory / paging enabled for a SSD drive under any circumstances. You'll kill your SSD drive a lot faster even without Microsoft doing its usual thing of messing stuff up and having no idea how they did it.

For the Feed > Search application memory issue, if you haven't already, right click your taskbar, News and interests > Turn off, while they don't shoot a patch to fix this.

As for your Virtual Memory configurations, let's save your SSD, shall we?

------START OF UNRELATED BUT NECESSARY INSTRUCTIONS TO FIX OUR BUDDY'S OTHER PROBLEM------

Firstly, make sure you're not running anything important before doing this. You'll crash any programs and applications depending on Paging files when you click OK at the end of the process.

Go to Settings and type "performance". Click Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

In the next window, click Advanced, then Change...

Then, uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", select your SSD drive, check No paging file, then click OK. Again, If you have any process depending on the paging file when you click OK, those processes will crash and you might lose something important. Make sure you're not running anything important before doing this. Preferably do it while ready to reboot your machine. If you have HDD drives connected, you can select them and check System managed size or a custom size for you to keep on having a Paging file enabled on something that won't be ruined by being used as makeshift RAM.

Next, click the rest of the OKs and reboot your machine. There, now you won't waste precious TBW on Virtual Memory and, thus, your SSD won't die too young.

How did you remove it from your registry and System 32 folder?

Don't. Right-click on taskbar - News and Interests - Turn Off is the easiest way:

I've disabled the news and interests feature and also download those windows feature updates and the issue hasn't presented itself since.

My nvidia drivers are also up to date. Thank you.
