Lenovo Integrated Camera Not Working with Windows 11

Both my husband and I have Lenovo laptops (S340-15IIL Touch Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81WW and IdeaPad 5i) and after the latest windows update our integrated cameras do not work in any apps or programs. We have tried all the troubleshooting, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, F8, etc.

When we view the camera in settings it has a solid gray box (the indicator light shows next to the camera showing it is in use). Also have tried the Camera app and experience the same gray box. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix?

    Hello, I am having the same issue with my Lenovo S340-15IIL Touch Laptop (ideapad). Can you specify the KB number of the windows updates that was uninstalled to fix your camera? I have several windows updates since the date of this article.

    Nobody ever identified the KB article number of the windows updates that were uninstalled.

    I have seen too much traffic on this forum with lame responses to the most obvious issue of having the privacy shutter closed.

    I tried all available drivers and was not able to solve my issue, until finally I opted to check the connection on the camera. I removed the display bezel enough to expose the camera's connection, place some pressure on it to make sure that it was well seated, replaced the bezel and restarted and the camera was then working.

    I ended up removing the last two camera drivers and all was ok.
    I have just checked and driver has been updates to Aug 23 and camera still working.
    Hope this helps if anyone still has same problem

    Thank you so much! Tried every possible way and It did not work. Even I asked If there is any cap user said no. After seeing your solution I tried the same thing and It worked.
