Lenovo Integrated Camera Not Working with Windows 11

I'm stuck with this right now. I rolled back the updates but didn't have any luck getting my camera recognized. Do you remember which updates you uninstalled?

Yes, agree with your suggestions and discovery; pinch (gently), the bezel from the outside and inside (around the camera). The distortion disappears and camera is working again.

It could be a hardware issue; eg. wire connector, etc; not software problem, especially when Windows 11 Device Manager shows webcam is working.

Yes. I get the same gray box. I suspect Lenovo downed the original cameras that came with the iPad if you chose not to update your warrantee plan with them. Lenovo pre-installed Mcaffee acts terrible with other software if you don't update the subscription. It's not enough to sell the consumer a $5 to $6 hundred dollar laptop, but then they want you on a subscription paying them $12 to $15 hundred a year in addition. Then, good luck reaching them if you have questions. I uninstalled McAfee and I am thinking of testing the laptop out with an external camera. Even though they conceal it, Lenovo has the camera basically self-destruct if the renewal is not purchased. Lenovo in their proprietary greed, may have the ability to block any other camera system. If that is the case, which it probably is the case, I will have to re-format the hard disk and install a clean Windows copy and get rid of the Lenovo pre-installed ****. They should not have the power to sell cameras, then corrupt them, and then re-sell the user with a whole new camera. This business needs something like weights and measures that comes down from the feds when common folk buy gasoline. This is no different. The pre-installed camera should be available for re-installation or other procedures. People who bought and paid for it should not be deprived access to it. But we are??

If you look at the screenshot that is not your issue. The light comes on but still shows the gray box.

I am experiencing the same thing and uninstalling windows updates is not working.

There are feedbacks on (1.1) Lenovo's website from consumers, and (1.2) Microsoft community, on above problem. 1 possible solution from Microsoft's community, and Lenovo's website, is about "Pinching" or "lightly pressing with thumb and finger" on screen frame (bezel) area around the webcam.

I did as suggested, and solved my webcam problem, which caused no video after every Windows 11 update. I encountered this issue since Year 2022, for almost every Windows 11 update.

I attached a picture as reference; take note red colour rectangular box around webcam. This is the area to "pinch".
