Windows 11 - Microphone icon in system tray

no, actually, I want to remove this dumb icon from my OWN account because this stupid version of windows is simultaneously the most barren thing ever while forcing the most useless "features" down my throat. You're useless

If Voicemeeter or Shadowplay is recording 24/7, then take it to them --- it's their problem, not Microsoft's problem.

No but it is Microsoft's problem that they are taking away the free choice of people not living in the US.

Again: I'm not against protecting people against others secretly spying, but that is not a task for MS, but for judges.

I'd also like to get an explanation if and then how to get rid of this icon. As someone else in the thread said I also use a program called Voicemeeter for my mic input. This means that my mic has to be on 100% of the time, leading to that microphone icon showing at all times.

Tho I have it slightly worse than the original poster. My microphone icon is stacked behind another icon.

I have only been on Windows 11 for like a week and I already want to go back to Windows 10 because of this icon.

Honestly, how would something like this go unnoticed? And how could anyone say that this looks good/normal?

I wouldn't have cared if the icon was placed beside all the other icons and sort of blended in together with them, but this just looks absolutely horrendous.
