Windows 10 extremely slow after upgrade to version 21H1

I have just upgraded to Windows 10 Version H21H1 but the system has become extremely slow. When I click on a program icon on my desktop, it takes quite a while for the program to open. And even web pages take a while to open and at times do not respond at all. What could be the problem or do I roll back to the previous version?

    so now i have reset the laptop keeping the user settings. essentially a reinstall of windows 10.

    still no joy,

    i notice that the cpu is throttled at 13% and memory does not go past 45%. someone is playing a wicked joke :)

    even when i open a 30MB excel file with lots of calc the cpu does not tick past 13% (running intel i7, 16gb of memory)

    surely we are not the only ones with this problem

    You're very lucky you fixed your problem. I'm using AMD and I had to go to their site and locate and update for my chipset and graphics. So far this has helped and it is better than it was but not completely cured

    Things were running fine until I got an automatic update which asked for an restart, then the problem reappeared. I think the update that was installed was:

    Intel - System - 2108.100.0.1053

    But then yesterday I had two optional Intel driver updates:

    Intel - SoftwareComponent - 1.41.2021.121

    Intel - SoftwareComponent - 2109.0.52.0

    I installed them and hurrah! things are back to normal. Tried reboot twice after this and still good.

    Yes it's obvious to me that 21h1 definitely affects the video and the video cards it seems when I try to wake up my computer in the morning it takes 10 to 15 seconds for the video to come alive and then I'm able to log in but it's still a little slow applications take 10 to 15 seconds to load sometimes they're quick other times they take 10 to 15 seconds. Someone should fix this

    i have now tried disabling all non windows services and startup apps including cortana.

    there is a 20% improvement, not much of a joy.
