[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

    Hey there, AFWS

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

I'm getting really long restart/startup times. Takes around 15 minutes to do a restart. Not sure what update caused this , but I installed 2004 on 6/05 and it never took that long before that update.

Please submit this as feedback though the feedback hub, as shown in the instructions above in the marked answer.

    Regards,

    Hi Nancy!

"Start" is the rectangle/windows logo on the task bar.  My task bar is at the bottom of my screen, so the "Start" rectangle is to the far left.

When you click on "Start", a list of programs in alphabetical order comes up on the left.   Under "F" it says "Feedback Hub."

I know you've been using this every day.

Sometimes I forget what it's called because I'm looking for the list of "Start Up" programs - which is different - and, in the past, they could slow down my computer.

    Diane

    Hey there, IwantedaMAC

I have sent your feedback link onto the Edge team for you.

If they are asking for more information, this will be because they are needing it for their investigation into this.

    Thanks,

    Nathan,
