[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10. 

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub. 

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

    Hi Nathan,

    I did send feedback earlier today.

    I can't imagine what that update did to make my WiFi slower and causes "Poor Connection" in Skype during a video call which freezes the video/audio intermittently.  However, if I plug my ethernet cable into the router and laptop, the Skype calls are ok with no pauses.  Seems crazy, but I can pinpoint the exact date when this problem began and it was the same day that the Edge update Win 10 Ver 1903 was installed on my laptop.  I have called Microsoft 3 times and the last time they installed Win 10 Ver 2004, thinking that will solve the problem.  It did not.

    I had to go to restore so I went back a week previous as my restore point. On the re-boot KB:4559309 was reinstalled with todays date. Win 10 sure is a POS. This update has crashed my wireless network for my business. All our CPU's can no longer find each other - GGGRRRR

    Same as what TerryZ_552 said, disabling bitlocker fixed it for me as well on 2004

    I did a system restore, twice, to a point before the update took place, but... then, during the reboot he updated the KB4559309 again, automatically. Now, after two system restores I am not able to restore again to a point before the updates took place. 

    Great work Windows. I had a perfectly good working HP pavillion and since this Edge update my screen turns blue several times a day. I tried fixing this for the last hundred hours (driversupdates, systemchecks, systemrestores) , but nothing worked. There were previous windows updates that caused the same blue screen problems at my HP, but then I could simply uninstall the thing! I hate the dictatorial way windows impose its updates on people. I am not even using Edge, its terrible. I never thought of bying a MAC, but I am afraid Windows leaves me no other option. In dutch we call Windows 'WINDHOOS', which means 'hurricane', because of all the problems it gives. Please fix this hurricane Windows! And give us the opportunity to uninstall the horrible thing. I bought this computer, it's mine. So don't come into my house, uninvited, to destroy my perfect working laptop.
