It seems like Microsoft are losing their way regarding Windows and updates. The last major update slowed Windows Explorer response times so that whenever I click an Icon or an item, Explorer can take anywhere from 10 seconds to several minutes to respond. Same thing happens with the network, trying to open a network share mostly fails now, whereas before the update it was fine. I also have started seeing the MoUsoCoWorker issue, this was never a thing before the last update, now it happens daily. Sick of constantly not being able to work because the OS doesn't want to respond or is too busy doing its own work to do my work :(
Mouso core worker process
My computer (Windows 10, 64-bit Build 19041) is constantly waking up from sleep and then going back to sleep for a short time only to repeat the cycle. I ran sleep diagnostics on the Windows PowerShell as administrator i.e. powercfg /systemsleepdiagnostics. The report from yesterday (5/31/2020) indicates that my computer awoke from sleep 50-55 times during the course of the day until at about 8:00 p.m., I decided that it was better to fully shut down the computer rather than have these continued cycles. The common thread in all these awakenings from sleep is MoUSO Core Worker Process (MoUsoCoreWorker.exe).

This executable is a Microsoft programming element.
Why is this happening and what can I do to eliminate this totally annoying phenomena?

2021-01-06T18:39:40+00:00 Happy New Year!
In case you haven't noticed, MoUsoCoreWorker.exe is back preventing your computer from sleeping. Again.

2021-01-06T18:37:55+00:00 - I did have to replace the PSU which failed to a slightly older PSU around the time the problem started.
- All other hardware remained the same
When I get a chance I will change to a brand new PSU just in case that might be causing the issue.
I remember my main pc had sleep problems too a few years ago and after several months it started to malfunction on booting too.
I remember my main pc had sleep problems too a few years ago and after several months it started to malfunction on booting too.
Sometimes it did, sometimes not.
I decided to open the pc up to check on things, all seemed ok, i got a psu out my second pc, connected it in main pc and all problems were solved, even the sleep issues.
So Kalaglow i would say you have a big chance of fixing it with replacing your psu.

2021-01-05T14:08:35+00:00 Just to feedback my PC has now stopped sleeping again and now sometimes even the display doesn't turn off. It does occasionally sleep but it is very hit and miss. So as you predictedbru20 I was only able to fix the problem temporarily.
Anyway I can confirm:
- Problem started early November 2020
- No new software was installed
- Nvidia graphic card drivers have been rolled back etc and made no difference
- Firefox has updated several times and made no difference
- Windows 10 updated to 20H2 and made no difference
- MoUsoCoreWorker.exe does not appear in powercfg /requests
- I have no outstanding windows updates at all (i.e no optional updates or optional driver updates)
- I did have to replace the PSU which failed to a slightly older PSU around the time the problem started.
- All other hardware remained the same
When I get a chance I will change to a brand new PSU just in case that might be causing the issue.
In the meantime I have applied a fix to at least force the PC to sleep overnight, following advice on this web site:
https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/schedule-sleep-on-windows-10/
So occasionally the PC does sleep ok and if not then the fix ensures it does overnight, in my case scheduled for late evening.

Actually, it's not, this time. My computer, slept and resumed from sleep correctly for about two months and then suddenly stopped this week. It would shut down most of the way and then pop back to full "on." To my surprise, powercfg /requests showed nothing. Update history showed nothing -- no failed updates during the 4.5-month life of the machine.
However, I remembered a few contributors to this forum mentioning that they'd solved their problem by installing an optional update. I looked. There were three, including one related to Intel Bluetooth, one relating to Intel WiFi, and one relating to the AMD chipset. I checked all three and let it do it's thing. When it finished, only one had actually been installed, the Intel-WiFi update. The other two remained in the list of uninstalled optional updates, but that one WiFi update was all it took to get the computer sleeping perfectly again.
So, even if MoUsoCoreWorker.exe doesn't show up in powercfg troubleshooting, the problem may still have something to do with MS Update. I don't think the update service, itself, was the culprit, but there was an optional update that was needed. Are all driver updates listed as "optional?"
The same here, my computer, has gone to sleep correctly for about two months since the fix I mentioned (see messages 10th Nov / 4th Dec). Then over Christmas stopped sleeping again with nothing showing in powercfg /requests. Found a couple of optional driver updates and installed these 30th Dec and PC happily sleeping again.
It clearly is broken though as should not need user intervention.
