Halo Master Chief Collection won’t install on pc and also says I have an update for MCC when it’s not even on my pc

Since the lastest update that added halo 3 i havent been able to install Halo MCC i keep getting error code 0x80073D12

In the end I solved it (at least for me, check out if it works for you as well).

I had the impression the game didn't install because in some way, even if I had the downloading drive for new applications set as the one with the most free disk space (D:), still the Store was actually trying to install on C:.

So I did the following: first go to the advanced settings for the Microsoft Store app and deactivate the option for making it run on background. Then open the Store app and cancel all pending downloads for Halo. Then go back to the app's advanced settings and click on the button to kill the process, then click on the button to reset the app. If for any reason you're prevented from taking these steps for some kind of error, restart the system first.

Then go to Settings > Storage and click on "Change Where New Content Is Saved". Now for me, when I opened this windows, everything was already set to D:, but in my opinion that was a plain lie. So, for the option regarding new apps, I switched to C (and clicked Apply) and then back to D (by clicking Apply again). Now at this point it might be that you'll see the classic Window's loading circles circling like for ever. If it does, still wait something like 30 or more seconds, then click on the Back arrow, and go back again to the "Change Where New Content Is Saved" page. You should see that the option for new apps is D again.

So now that theoretically the drive where to save the apps is REALLY set to D this time, open the microsoft store, select MCC and start downloading it (better not to select one of the single games that are part of the package, but you're free to try. Just to be sure I preferred to download the entire bundle).

    I just paid for game pass so I can play halo on my pc. I have over 300gb of free space and I only have 60 in use right now. I click on halo master chief collection and I get this error to clear up disk space. I even tried to download it on the Microsoft store. I truly don't know what to do.

    With this error please check this following things:

    1. Check there’s enough hard drive space for the game

    Press the Windows key + E hotkey.

    Then click This PC in File Explorer.

    The hard drive icon there shows how much free storage space is available.

    If there’s not enough HDD storage for the game, uninstall some superfluous programs to make space for it.

    1. Check if the game is an expansion

    The 0x80073d12 error often arises for games that are expansion packs or a part of a wider game collection package. For example, users have reported the issue arises for Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

    In the case of the Master Chief Collection, the error can arise when users try to install a game within the bundle (such as Reach) before the full package.

    Some users have needed to select to download and install the full package first. So, check if the game is an expansion (add-on) or part of a bundle pack that needs to be installed first.

    1. Select to install the game from My Library

    Press Start

    Open the Microsoft Store App

    Click the See more … button at the top right of the MS Store app’s window.

    Click Download and updates on the menu.

    Click Downloads on the left to open My library.

    Then click Ready to install to open a list of apps.

    Click the Install button for the game app that you need to install

    No fix for this error. I have even uninstalled the entire Xbox App, tried through MS store app, and other multiple fixes from all over the internet. This is shocking to have such a massive error, especially after dropping crossplay and Halo 4 so recently.
