Since Microsoft is aware of the issues with this newest round of updates, for Windows 10 O/S my desktop computer
still searching for updates and I'm wondering how or what will happen when these updates have received the patch to correct the issue will my computer be able to download and install

Microsoft forced an Edge update to me (somehow) on Feb 3 2024. Since then, except for the HIGH Memory Usage and Fan Speed, it seems to be much better. I still see (28) or so processes of Edge, but upon closing the browser, it is performing much better BUT, still has a few 'hic-ups'.
I just open Edge and close it again. There may be hope :)
I feel your pain, i've had the stress also going to 6 households with windows to sit a mock exam on an app that only works with 10, 10 pro & 11, only 1 of those 6 had windows 11 🙄
In sheer frustration I took an older version of Windows 11 (21H2?) and ran a Win10 Pro to Win 11 Pro upgrade through that and it worked fine. This suggests that Microsoft has added, removed, or, more likely, borked something in the current Windows 11 upgrade release.
I know I can run a fresh Win11 Pro install and then reinstall all of my apps. But, seriously, this is a major headache for me, let alone others with more complex installations than my plain vanilla setup.
Microsoft has seriously dropped the credibility ball in recent years. It looks as if they have little to no quality control or testing. And it shows.
I know my “solution” completely ignores security updates. I have no idea how long it will take to update Win11 Pro to the current version, but this did work for me.
By the way. I returned to Win10 Pro as I just couldn’t stand W11 look and feel. Also, Microsoft have removed, relocated, combined or buried many Settings and Control Panel items. Not good.
I think I’ll wait to see if W12 or W13 sorts things out; or, indeed, if Linux can get gaming to function less haphazardly.
No they will not, they don't even care. for last 10 days i have been experiencing the same thing, update failed, windows photos, media player and movies & TV application are also not working
You would think that MS would back out the update that caused the problems until a resolution is found.
If this was a push to get users to upgrade to windows 11 that isn't possible for many systems due to requirements, this may turn into a class action lawsuit. MS can't break the older operating system to force users into another product (that isn't compatible with hardware).
