I lost all my passwords on all my browsers with the last Windows update. Every time I try to get support, I am directed to the spot to "save" passwords. They are still there allowing them to be saved. Each time I sign on to a site, I am asked if I want to save. I always say yes, but it still never saves. I had to change all my passwords and write them down because I didn't remember them because they were all saved before that update.  This is annoying, to say the least. Please, don't advise me on how to go into my browser settings and choose to save passwords. I know that. Everyone does.; It doesn't work!

I have been working on getting this fixed since the last update/ I got blocked out of my bank for attempting to use what I thought was my password. 

I wish to opt-out of Windows updates. They only serve to make PC users, annoyed!

    OK, I don't give up easy, and I think I have now solved the problem just by uninstalling the $&@# update that caused the problem in the first place.  Not sure this is a permanent solution because I'm pretty sure Microsoft will try to force me to reinstall at some point, but for now I'm back to where I was.

    Go to Settings on your computer

    Select "Update & Security"

    Click "View update history"

    Click "Uninstall updates" (at the top of the page)

    Select the update you want to uninstall

    If the update is uninstallable (not all are) the option to "uninstall" will appear to the right of the word "Organize" on theh menu bar.  Click this.

    Note -- I had to uninstall not only the Windows update but one of the security updates that occurred at the same time.

    So I checked all the steps that I had gone through re: the Vault files to windows go back to remembering my passwords and everything I had set had been UNset! (All the boxes I had checked became unchecked.)  So it works fine until windows decides to undo all your changes.  This is clearly 100% a Microsoft problem and has nothing to do with what browser you are using.  I made all the changes over again, but I assume that windows will wipe them out again eventually.  Probably eventually going to have to re-install windows unless there is some known patch for this.

    would not surprise me...

    This is now compounded for ME  (and others)

    in that if you still have an old Yahoo email account  

    they are trying to make you use it in Web Mail.

    Yahoo keeps claiming Outlook  is  NOT SECURE

    so they force web   or  Dual Athentication with your Desktop Outlook

    through your mobile

    So I'll be dumping the yahoo email as quick as I can

    yeah, that's what I tried per JerseyGirl3's message, PC has been turned off twice since then to reset. It worked the first time, but the 2nd time I turned the PC back on the sync was off again. Frustrating but I can live with it.  Will keep searching!

    oddly enough     my saved passwords seems to work in the new Microsoft Edge?

    I figured it would, but that means I'm being forced to switch from Chrome to Edge and I don't want to switch browsers and I shouldn't have to.  Is that what Microsoft's trying to do?????
