Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems

I have managed to get as far as the "Welcomem Set Your Experience" screen ==> Content Manager" that seems to keep restarting the download for "asobo-aircraft-b787-10-0.1.35.fspackage".

The download will sometimes get to around 30% and then reset back to start again, while other times it may only get to 7% or 12%.

Why is this happening?

My internet is reasonably stable with a consistent download bandwidth of between 30MBPS to 50MBPS.

    I have found a fix

     - Observe the offending file in the launcher that keeps resetting its progress, for me "asobo-aircraft-c152.fspackage".

     - Go into the install path for the game and locate the folder relating to your particular fspackage

     - Renamed the offending folder to "asobo-aircraft-c152.old" (I did this while the launcher was actually open, not sure if I recommend this as it was an oversight on my part) and hopefully watch the launcher finish in short order. Hope this helps at least one person.

    This has been a 3 day struggle for me that is now finally over, thankyou Microsoft for taking my £80 and providing me with this. Very pleased.

    So after many days. Reformatting, and realizing it would be easier to just fly a real plane. I found a fix where no other fix worked.

    Download a program called Net Limiter 4.

    Install and run it.

    Start up flight sim.

    In Net Limiter right click flightsimulator.exe and click info

    In the limit box set it to 2.34 MBs , any faster the installer messes up and can't download.

    I have the same problem, will not move past the first download. Keeps reseting and looping endlessly !!!!! This is a waste of time and money for a product that by the looks of it MANY people can't get to work !!!!

    Intel i7-7700 3.60G

    16 mb ram

    RTX 2070 super 8mb

    windows 10 ver 2400

    ALL updates applied

    AV turned off

    Firewall turned off

    netsh command run as administrator

    Rebooted computer several times and restarted installation. 

    and so far that is the only entertainment gotten from the game. 

    P3dV5 works flawlessly on this system 4k and most settings ultra so surely it is good enough for MS2020.

    If you are experiencing slow download speed when downloading Microsoft Flight Simulator, please do the following:

    In the Windows search bar, type Command and look for ‘Command Prompt’

    In the menu select “Run as administrator”

    Enter: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

    Press enter

    We also recommend doing the following:

    Close the app and restart it rather than letting it hang. Note: the download will resume from where it left off (you will not have to download from the start again)

    Avoid using WiFi when updating. Try using an ethernet cable instead.

    Turn off any security software that may be interfering (UAC, Antivirus, Firewall).

    Change the installation repository (from C: to D: for instance) or try creating a new installation folder in the drive of your choice (for instance create "MSFS" in your C: drive)
