Hello, use Registry Editor, go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet
and modify: EnableActiveProbing
then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"
and restart your computer

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.
I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).
As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?
If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

The proper one is
"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force
But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

No...i change to 0 tried that then back to 1. Nothing. Now it says i dont have an adapter. Which i never changes.

2020-12-25T05:04:00+00:00 We're up to twenty pages of thread and 603 posts now(counting this one), so don't expect the problem to be fixed anytime soon, or any posted solution to work. Many of us here on this thread have tried all of the suggestions, some of them work for a short time, but many of them simply DON'T work at all.
I expect they worked for the poster, but not for anyone else, so it seems too fluid an issue to be able to track it down easily.
The ONLY solution I have found to 100% work 100% of the time, is a FULL reboot every time you see the icon.
After a full reboot, the icon goes away, but it WILL be back again.
At that point, you MUST do a FULL reboot, and you have to do that EVERY time you see that icon, or you're stuck with it, basically.
That is the ONLY workaround that I have found to always work on my W10 box.
This can result in many, many reboots every day depending on how long W10 will work after that reboot before insisting you have no internet again, and blocking all the apps that use that......."Feature".
I just wish my CAD software people would release Linux versions, but they have said they don't plan to ever do that, and they are unstable in Linux under WINE, so I am forced to keep this one W10 box running, and just ignore the icon.
But now that I have most of my other machines on Linux, I am seriously thinking about building a W8 or W7 box out of older hardware with a minimum install ONLY to run my CAD software, and then installing Linux on THIS machine also, then I will remote-desktop into the Windows machine just for the CAD and nothing else.
