Windows crashing after clicking PERFORMANCE tab under Task Manager

Hello Windows Community folks

Windows 10 keeps crashing after I click Performance TAB in Task Manager. It crashes the windows going into the infamous Green screen with reason- Windows preview build failed. I have tried several debug options like cmd SFC Scan, DISM.

I have not specifically touched registry keys as I am afraid I will end up breaking something else.

What options do I have? Please suggest.

this helped for me,

I changed

NVIDIA System Control > 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred GPU

from "NVIDIA high performance processor"

back to "auto select"

    I had a similar issue for my laptop after a windows update, my task manager used to crash when I take the performance tab. I just got it fixed right now. May be this step will be helpful. 

    Below are the steps i did

    1. I took the NVIDIA control panel
    2. I selected Manage 3d settings from the right panel.
      See the below diagram for your reference. In the  Programm settings (Left side), I selected task manager and the preferred graphics processor as NVIDIA. For me Integrated graphics was selected as default. After applying this change, now I am not facing any issues

    It doesn't work to me when choosing NVIDIA Graphic in the last step, so, I have to select integrated graphic in the last step and It works to me !!

    Bonjour, Bonsoir,

    J'ai eu l'ordinateur d'une amie avec le même problème de crash en Windows 8.

    HP ENVY 17 NoteBook i7 NVIDIA GeForce 750M.

    J'ai donc installé un Windows 10 - 21H1 avec les dernières mises à jour, et Pilote de chez HP.

    Mais toujours le problème du BlueScreen, dès que je lance le gestionnaire des taches, et particulièrement la visualisation des Performances.

    J'ai télécharger et installé GeForce Expérience: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/drivers/

    Tout fonctionne à merveille.

    Thanks a lot!

    Updating the NVIDIA Driver solved the blue screen crash for me ! Performance tab is visible again :-)

    Lenovo W530 Nividia Quattro 1000 Win 10 x64.
