Windows crashing after clicking PERFORMANCE tab under Task Manager

Hello Windows Community folks

Windows 10 keeps crashing after I click Performance TAB in Task Manager. It crashes the windows going into the infamous Green screen with reason- Windows preview build failed. I have tried several debug options like cmd SFC Scan, DISM.

I have not specifically touched registry keys as I am afraid I will end up breaking something else.

What options do I have? Please suggest.

this helped for me,

I changed

NVIDIA System Control > 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred GPU

from "NVIDIA high performance processor"

back to "auto select"

    Performance tab blue screen of death.

    Same problem on my Alienware 18 either in SLI or with just one video card (dual 765m)

    Installed new NVIDIA drivers instead of the ones Windows 10 install used and all fixed.

    No, I don't think it's the Nvidia drivers because that was one of the first things I updated, and still the performance tab was crashing the system. I do agree it's a drivers issue however, because updating everything solved my problem.

    Same problem here, I use a Samsung RF-511 notebook and started after a day using Windows 10 2004 on a new SSD (WD Green 480GB), the strange thing is that on the first day I was able to access the performance tab without problems, it started after I installed the Office 2010 and I updated it.
