Auto muting of sound and microphone at random times when in Zoom

when in Zoom both the sound and my microphone randomly auto mute.   I can unmuted them using f5 and f8 buttons but it will later auto mute again.   There appears to be no pattern to the amount of time it stays on.  Sometime 1 minutes sometimes as many as 10.   I do not use any other meeting platforms so don't know if this is a Zoom problem or a microsoft problem.   I am using an HP probook computer that is less than 6 months old.  In Microsoft 10 software.

    I have been using headphones as a work around until Zoom figures this out.

    I have a brand new HP Probook 450 G6 that I specifically bought to work from home and attend Court hearings, which are being done by Zoom. My laptop mutes the computer microphone and speaker on its own but only when I am on Zoom. Is it a Zoom setting or Windows setting that fixes the problem?

    I'm having exactly the same issue, and I agree only on Zoom - it'll start off very infrequent, but by the end of the call can be happening every 30 seconds or so!

    Thank you for posting this.  I've been fielding complaints of random muting in Microsoft Teams.  Thought it was the hardware acceleration setting in Teams, but it came back on a few machines after disabling that.  I'm betting this will fix it.

    Curiously, some machines seem to have been fixed by checking Disable GPU Hardware Acceleration in Teams settings, so maybe both of these settings can cause the muting issue.

    Has there been any fix to this? I'm a physician doing telehealth via Zoom. I have an HP ProBook 450 G6 runing Windows 10 Pro v 1909. 

    Agree only with Zoom. 

    Agree that after it first happens, it tends to happen at a higher frequency. 

    Affects both input and output; generally simultaneously, but have had times where only audio input or output were muted. 

    Going to sell my computer and get a Mac if this continues. 

    It's not a Windows issue, its a Zoom-HP issue.  Just buying a different HP would make it work (so it seems).

    I am going to head over to those forums
