Presuming you've got the right BIOS & presuming the sites kept up with what Windows Update can fetch -- it makes yours a TP410UAR to have a 309 BIOS. All of the others have a lesser version at their site: A plain TP410UA has version 307; the TP410UR & TP410URR both have 308 as their highest version. ...And set it for TP410UAR. Then check that all the other drivers have updated well after your last reset, as I posted earlier. Since you're taking it to a repair shop, I guess it can't be hurt much worse than it already is. But I would check the price of that shop against what ASUS would charge for the repair. They must know the computer best.

It says a required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed. 

I had a thing come up that said I needed a power on password. So I did. I don’t want it or the administrators password. Do I have to have them?

My husband started this whole thing when windows update came up on the screen and I don’t know all he did. I ran the diagnostics and when the hard drive with Bios ran.. the above is what I ended up with. The error screen is the only thing that the computer will bring up. The Bios info came up on the diagnostics run... I hurried and wrote it down. It was the date and the version. 

Don't blame your husband , on most Windows systems the updates are now automatic and you don't really have a choice. Its all Microsofts fault for not testing the patches enough before release. If you can get in the system there may be hope of it being repaired. I can usually do my own computers but I'm giving up and taking it to a professional. I did every sort of diagnostics and reset with only the results that this laptop will boot after a few attempts and it still occasionally freezes, restarts or bluescreens.

That looks like a great computer -- better than mine! But there appear to be (at least) two of yours.

(1) What is the System Model in MSInfo32 (type into search) -- TP410UA or TP410UR?

(2) And is there anything in MSInfo32 mentioning TP410UAR or TP410URR?

(3) What is the BIOS version & date in MSInfo32?

When there, you'll need to choose between ...A & ...AR....

After that, there are many 2019 dates on the drivers. Compare versions to what is in "Right-click START, Device Manager". If greater at the site, first try to get it through Device Manager (search automatically). If that fails to fetch it, take it from the site. I wouldn't take anything for a device that is not mentioned in Device Manager, as all computers of the same model may not be equipped the same. BIOS version at the site is either 307 or 309 depending on which of those is yours, but both have a date of 2019/06/05.

But for the TP410UR, it is...

Similarly, you'll need to choose between ...R & ...RR. Drivers & BIOS version will differ depending which it is.

Regarding:   "still has boot system corruption"

Maybe the reset got something wrong in the BCD (Boot Configuration Data). We could look into it, if the automatic repair doesn't ultimately set it right. The first try would be to try a Startup Repair of your own...

(1) Shift+Restart to reboot to the recovery environment.

(2) "Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair".

Its just a tp410u . For some reason that model has no other letter after it on the computer. It runs the 309 bios. I’ve reset it twice because it froze and then bluescreen during first attempt. I’ve lost my past recovery data and too much other stuff to list. Have been able to get it to boot past the bios screen many times. It freezes randomly with about 6 various causes. The critical process error seems to be the most common. I’m at the point that I will take it to a regular tech shop to see if they can save it. I think reverting to the prior Win10 version and Bios update might work but at this point I’m looking a a small cheap Chromebook for email and waiting to see if the Asus can be saved.

I received the Patch Tuesday releases today.  KB4532693, KB4537759 and KB4538674 dropped in the first wave and all installed successfully.  On a subsequent "Check for Updates"  KB4524244 downloaded and installed but on the reboot, it rebooted the first time but froze hard on the second re-boot with Step 2 information and a frozen spinner on my screen, no keyboard or any access.  After about 15 mins I finally forced the system down.  On the reboot, my Secure Boot flagged me that the keys were corrupted.  I was able to get those repaired and reboot into the system.  I rebooted a couple more times but no updates attempted to install.  On a third "Check for updates, the same (KB4524244) update attempted to download but freezes the system at 94% on the download.  Again freezes hard requiring a hard re-set.  I tried flushing the Software Distribution cache but get the same results.

FYI:  I am running Windows defender with VBS (Credential Guard and Hypervisor enforced Code Integrity on an HP EliteDesk 705 G4 MT with a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics.  I also have a similar set up running on an HP laptop (Intel i5), but the update installed fine on it.

I have been getting that a lot of programs have crashed because of windows defender and I do not know why that is as I'm running windows

8.1 b ecause I bought the HP desk top in 12 /2013  and microsoft gave me the option to take windows 8.1 so I did and it has worked really well for me but now I'm having a lot of trouble with windows defender why is this ??????
