Unable to update 2020-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4528760) - Error 0x800f0831

As the title says.  I have tried downloading and installing manually and through windows update.  This will not install.  Any help?

    I quit windows a few years ago and recently came back to it, this was a horrible experience. I cant believe that 90 percent of windows users are vulnerable rn its crazy. I just come back to windows to find this mess. Bill would cry if he knew about this lol. Linux updates perfect every time (well at least it updates every time) mac worked everytime (even if the updates are huge and time consuming). Windows just dosent update at all? Honestly its so annoying to give something a second chance and within months have a real big problem. The most attacked os on the planet cant even get its updates right... Im annoyed to say the least.

    Thanks saltyceolyfe. I have a very poor IT knowledge and do not know to all this.

    Why MS just fix the bug and send new up date.

    It is not first time that they issue a faulty update.

    Error 0x80073701 stands for ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING. It is distinct from the errors reported previously.

    I have tried several times and nothing works to get this installed. I always receive an error code! 2020-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4528760) - Error 0x800f0831. I have tried to install it through settings and manually. I have searched through many sites and suggestions and nothing works. It seems that many have the same issues but no resolution form MS! Can someone help me with this, please?

    I had tried several previous manual installs and they all failed.  I did one more per your instructions and it too failed.  The Windows Update Assistant manual install did work however.  It stuck at 99% and I let it sit for 4 hours. The c:$GetCurrent did not work in File Explorer, but when I restarted the computer anyway the update went through and installed. 

    Problem is solved.  Thank you.
