Missing search tab - File Explorer (Windows 10 - 1909)

when i type in the box the search tab does not appear.  As I said initially.  So, lucky  you.  For many of us, that is lost.

Yes searching for anything WITH an enter key does bring back the tab, but clear history still does nothing.

And just to be clear typing bogus data just to get the missing tab to pop up is not CORRECT behavior even though I marked the solution a ways back in the stream as solving the problem.

Hoping for the May 2020 to make it out soon and fix it too.

It most certainly is possible to search by date still. 

If you read the solution that so many kind people have posted in here you would see how to use the search box now. 

This thread really should be locked now to prevent this kind of repetition. 

To save you reading back a few notes, just type something into the search box - I usually use the first letters of what I am looking for or an asterisk if I want to search for "today" or whatever and then hit enter or click the arrow and then the search tab will appear and open up the options to you. 

I think everyone is probably hoping that the May 2020 update will put things back how they were - if we ever see it. It seems to have been delayed.

it is also not possible to search by date.  while you can begin typing in a search term and that appears to work now.  the search tab does not appear when you put the cursor in the window so you cannot search by date, or week or month or year:(

Clicking in the search box will show the list of past searches.

Not sure how this helps the current situation or issue but I think we already knew this.  Thanks anyways.
