Bluetooth Headset cannot be used as both headphones and speakers

I have a bluetooth headset that does not allow me to use it as both a microphone and a headset.

I have determined that audio will play through the Bluetooth headset as long as the recording device is set to Conexant ISST Audio.  If I set the recording device to BHS-530 Hands-Free then no sound will play through either BHS-530 Playback device.

I can get audio to play while the BHS-530 Handsfree is setup as the Recording device but not while it is actively listening.  As an example my BHS-530 Stereo is selected for both my default audio and default communication device.  I start playing a YouTube video and audio works with the Playback menu is up in the Sound dialog (first screenshot), as soon as I select the recording menu (second screenshot) the audio stops.  If I switch the recording device back to Conexant ISST Audio the youtube video will continue to send sound regardless of which menu I am on.

What do I need to set so that I can use the headset for both audio and microphone (Microsoft Teams Calls)

The headset comes up as two separate devices once it connects to windows:

Playback Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

and

Type: Headphones

Name: BHS-530 Stereo

Recording Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

Type: Internal Microphone

Name: Conexant ISST Audio

(this is my laptop's internal mic)

    Using a seperate usb mic was also my solution as well, with my bluetooth as stereo audio... I entertained the idea of using a second bluetooth device as the mic only and just wearing both devices, but thats kinda rediculous!!

    do they make a bluetooth device that has two bluetooth antenna so headphones and mic are there own dedicated devices in windows?

    my ultimate sokution unfortunately was to go with a headset that has its own dedicated dongle, but that still doesnt address the shortcoming of window’s handling of bluetooth!

    Same problem as you, I bought an external mic to solve it (Razer Seiren Mini). 
    I couldn’t use my laptop mic because it isn’t in front of me when I’m at my desk.

    Hey, well, it's my first time, telling solution, so don't mind my broken English!
    I have the same problem with BoAt Rockerz 450, i resolved it but temporary, like I have to do it again and again, I shut down my PC.

    A) Well, go to sound by->
    A1) Go to the 'Settings', then go to 'System', then select 'Sound'.
    OR

    A2) On taskbar, Right-Click Volume Icon, then select 'Open Sound Settings'.

    B) Now, choose 'Headphones' on Output Device, and 'Headset' on Input Device.

    Now, you can't hear anything, but your mic will be working.

    C)After that, Go to 'Settings' Again(Refer A1 or A2)
    C1) Click on 'Privacy', then Go to 'Microphone'(which is present in 'App permission' Section)
    C2) Click on 'Change' Button(which is below 'Microphone access for this device is on')
    C3) A small Pop-Up will appear above that button, on that Pop-Up, make it 'Off', and then make it 'On' again.

    Now, your headphone's both things, are working(audio and microphone).

    #But there is a problem, while you use microphone, you will stop listening audio, and when you stop using it, you can listen audio again, that is a or issue, but i don't have any other solution right now!#

    Yeap that approach worked for me, thank you!!

    In my case worked by:

    1 Upair

    2 Disabled Bluetooth LE Enumerator

    3 Paried again

    4 Setting all input/output audio devices exclusive mode: Off

    and that's it!!!!
