Bluetooth Headset cannot be used as both headphones and speakers

I have a bluetooth headset that does not allow me to use it as both a microphone and a headset.

I have determined that audio will play through the Bluetooth headset as long as the recording device is set to Conexant ISST Audio.  If I set the recording device to BHS-530 Hands-Free then no sound will play through either BHS-530 Playback device.

I can get audio to play while the BHS-530 Handsfree is setup as the Recording device but not while it is actively listening.  As an example my BHS-530 Stereo is selected for both my default audio and default communication device.  I start playing a YouTube video and audio works with the Playback menu is up in the Sound dialog (first screenshot), as soon as I select the recording menu (second screenshot) the audio stops.  If I switch the recording device back to Conexant ISST Audio the youtube video will continue to send sound regardless of which menu I am on.

What do I need to set so that I can use the headset for both audio and microphone (Microsoft Teams Calls)

The headset comes up as two separate devices once it connects to windows:

Playback Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

and

Type: Headphones

Name: BHS-530 Stereo

Recording Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

Type: Internal Microphone

Name: Conexant ISST Audio

(this is my laptop's internal mic)

hello! i found a theoretical fix, if you could turn your stereo speakers into 1 channel mode and have them playing on 16 bit and on 44100 hz, then you could solve the problem, kinda. but the problem is that whenever I choose that option, it says something like:

option not supported for device, maybe some on you have a headset that could support this?

this is what I know, I have been trying to fix these for so long now lol.

Well, I can help you now. A user has helped me with this issue.

Plug in your headset and go to Control Panel > Realtek HD Audio Managerand when the pop-up of HD Audio Manager opens up, right-click on any of the buttons on the right under any of the headings Back Panel and Front Panel which are not greyed out. Click Connector Retasking... in the right-click menu. In the next pop-up, select Headset under the question Which device did you plug in? and click OK. Now try hearing any music or anything else, or try a test call in Teams (on the search bar in Teams on top, type /testcall and hit Enter. This opens a test call where you can test your headset).

    Hope this helps.

    Same here, multiple devices tested

The only thing that worked on calls is setting the speaker to "Headphones" and the Mic to the laptop's one

Any other settings sometime works but mostly doesn't

so basically, I had the same problem, where I could see the stereo option of my bluetooth device, but not the other audio option. I, instead of uninstalling the missing audio's driver, uninstalled the only other option that worked, which is the stereo option of the bluetooth device, then I went in bluetooth settings and, by hovering over the Bluetooth device, I selected "forget device". After that, I restarted my device, turned my bluetooth headset on, as well as the computer's bluetooth, and paired the headset to the computer. I fixed it. And this all happened like 20-30 mins ago. I'd advise you to try my method, but you never know what the outcome might be.

Did you try to play a music during a call on your Android device ? I tried on my iPad Pro to play a music (Spotify) during a FaceTime call and the quality was as bad as on my PC...

I think the problem comes from the Bluetooth limitation, some people (on this topic), solved the problem by using a bluetooth USB dongle. I'll buy one for my Razer Opus (don't know which one to choose yet), I hope this will solve the problem for me...
