I'm sorry. I'll try to keep what I say simple & only say what I think I should. I really appreciate your sticking with me. In response to what you said, I'm not sure what you mean by "I still do not know what you selected in the tool for your phone" but
I'll assume you mean I should tell you that I chose MY PHONE WAS NOT DETECTED and then that I picked LUMIA - WINDOWS PHONE even though it shows an image of a phone with a label Lumia 950 above that MY PHONE WAS NOT DETECTED thing.
I'm going to do another WDRT again right now so that I can hopefully tell you what I see without adding all of my unnecessary junk that I should tell you, I only put in there for my own memory in case I need to review it myself and not for you, since the
phone is dead again and even though I've never unplugged it from the PC, which has always woken it up and started it charging, it doesn't even show up in the PC's File Explorer since it is black screen dead. The last time I looked, my big Mugen 9,300 mAh battery
that I've had in it for 6 months is at 100%, so that's good.
I'll just forget about the Backup. It's done me no good and might be a problem anyhow.
Thanks for correcting me that a Soft Reset is what you'd said, holding POWER & VOLUME DOWN until if vibrates.
As far as "looking at the APPs list", I'd only said anything about that because when I was doing my Restores, it would always only show that list of APPs that normally takes a slide to the left to see. Quite oddly, if wasn't creating my Start page so I couldn't
even get off the APPs list until I quite oddly discovered that it was empty after I randomly picked one of the APPs I wanted to make sure was on the Start screen and tapping ADD TO START suddenly took me over to a blank page that now had only the icon for
that APP in the upper left corner.
So, MY DEVICE WAS NOT DETECTED > LUMIA - WINDOWS PHONE on left on next page > WAITING FOR CONNECTION - PRESS POWER & VOLUME DOWN.
WDRT - DEVICE INFO > INSTALL SOFTWARE. Downloading Package.
This always happens the first time I do it: SUMMARY - OPERATION ENDED WITH A FAILURE. TRY RESTARTING YOU DEVICE & TRY AGAIN.
Since my phone can't be started, I just do it all again. It takes another PRESS POWER & VOLUME DOWN and then it says Downloading Package. Phone goes red screen and Installing Software. (same as always).
Operation successfully completed. Phone starts (I saw this last night too.)
Do the WELCOME screens on phone now & then DON'T RESTORE. OneDrive NOT NOW. A page titled APPs says "still installing so don't turn OFF device".
Now it wants to set me up with ATTReady2Go since this must have been an AT&T phone before I bought it used & unlocked on eBay 9 months ago to use with T-Mobile. I just said NOT NOW & EXIT to that.
Then it pops fresh looking START page and tells me it found my SD card. I told it not to use it for save stuff on.
COOL!! My phone is alive with my Outlook stuff in it along with the same Photos that had been in my it before. I can tell this is a new version of Windows 10 Mobile since I just tested emailing myself a PrintScreen and it had in the Subject line "Shared
from Photos app" instead of the photoname.png that used to be there.
So, I'm assuming this thing will now stay alive and after a while, I'll rebuild the Start page with how I've had it in the past.
Thanks a ton so far!!!!
