2 days ago i upgraded my windows 10 to build 1903 , since then ,
randomly and during any activity (gaming , watching a video ..etc) ,
screen with the word "locking" in the middle appears for half a second and my laptop goes into sleep mode
and then i have to turn it on again
this never happened before the update , i tried to reset and fresh start but, nothing worked , and now i can't get back to previous build
what do i do ?

So, I solved the issue (for me, at least) a long time ago but forgot to report back. My apologies
Basically,
Settings -> power and sleep -> additional power settings -> change advanced power settings -> battery
Then, change critical battery action and low battery action to do nothing both on battery and plugged in
I don't know if others already solved the problem In a different way, but i Hope that helps

Did that. Still happens
im not sure. its just that my problem is my laptop randomly locks and goes sleep. doesnt matter if i open videos or play games. it just randomly sleeps. when i set the critical action to do nothing it stops and i also set the battery critical notification to never.

I have done already tried this setting but still nothing. Did you have the exact same issue as me and sourdough?
Still keeping the lid open. One monitor was g sync and the other isn't so I don't think that is the issue. Updated gpu drivers last week to the latest ones. HDMI connection via official HP dongle. Tried disabling hibernation via command prompt but now it just black screens and doesn't show the black screen. Keep in touch - we will get through this together. I am going to call HP support to see what they can do. What laptop and specs are you running?
