You Phone/Companion Connection-Link

hi I want to connect my android device to my hp windows 10 pro using the "You Phone' and " Phone Companion" but there is is know connection even though they are both connected to a WIFI hotspot from another device. My android is stuck in a loop saying " We're checking one more thing on your PC before we ask for a final permission, while my PC stuck on" We need permission to connect and access data onyour phone. Please check your phone and tap allow."

    USB connection do not work either. Looks like this software is not developed very well.

    After months of frustration stuck at ".... Checking one more thing..."

    Finally tried going into my router settings and changing my DNS servers to Google's public DNS - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - it worked !!

    On my router this was under  Internet Connectivity / IPv4 , where I changed from "Obtain DNS Automatically" to  Manually Specify DNS" and added   8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    The Microsoft Troubleshooter guide only mentions Wireless Isolation, i.e.

    "Many routers have a Wireless isolation feature that allow you to lock down the network. If this Wireless Isolation (or AP Isolation) is enabled, then all devices connected to the Wi-Fi network will be blocked from communicating with other".

    My router had nothing about wireless isolation or AP Isolation - suggest Microsoft  adds some troubleshooting advice on DNS settings for Your Phone.

    Thanks for the alternate options. MS support is not helpful beyond reload Windows. Not sure if it's phone or PC but it used to work reasonably well. Two factor authentication doesn't work well with MS either. Thinking you're right, look elsewhere,

    I was able to fix this by putting my pc on the same wifi network as my phone.
