A few hours ago I got a message to do something or other, which I did, and all of a sudden the app is working again. (IIRC it was setting permissions i.e. continuing on from where it gave up the ghost the last time I tried.)

I checked and the last time the app on the laptop was modified was 22 August (eight days ago) and on the phone the last update was 1 August, so I've no idea what's going on.

    Very strange.

I gather from the comments here this has happened to some other people but it didn't last. I'll see if it sticks. Hopefully it will. If it doesn't I'll just go back to Pushbullet, which works fine.

Well, the program works fine for me and the whole process appears stable.

Seriously, the whole team on this project needs to be fired.  This software hasn't been beta for over a year now yet it operates like it's pre-alpha.  After finding hundreds of posts like this and dozens of feedback posts(and hundreds of upvotes before they got rid of that feature), it's a train wreck with no sign MS hasn't abandoned it like they abandoned everything else.

I understand your frustration.  However, the system works fine with me.  As mentioned, my Note8 does work.  I agree that troubleshooting this program should be easier (and it should be included in the Android app).

Exact same issue here as well. 1903 and Android 9 on a G7 Power from Motorola. Used to work fine until maybe 1 week ago, after that Continue on PC started to fail (no notifications, after that no Edge windows opened either), and now trying to relink them fails as well.

    Nice.

I think that this part of the software is still in evolution.  MS is candid in stating that the program works well with specfiic phones, not all of them.  I have a Samsung Note 8 and everything works well, even in Win10 1903.
