Epson scanner will not work with latest windows 10 update

My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

    FWIW, Run As Administrator resolved the problem I had with Epson Scan.  After scanning or when closing it would spawn some window repeatedly without end until I did an End Task on it.  I edited the shortcut in

    C:\Users\Toby\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

    to set the Run as administrator property (Shortcut tab, Advanced...) on the shortcut to save me the trouble of right-clicking.

    When I first tried setting the property, Windows created a 2nd shortcut named Epson Scan (2) - don't know why.  I deleted both, created a new one (start -> search for "Epson Scan", right-click, Pin to taskbar), then went to the folder and right-clicked on the shortcut to set the property.

    Good advice Chris. Thank you. For now, I've rolled my Windows update back, but when automatic updates puts me back to v. 1803, I'll use your solution.

    Try running Epson Scan as administrator. Right click the Epson scan launch icon/Run as administrator. So far, this has stopped Epson Scan from crashing for me and it appears to work normally even with the new 1803 Windows update. I hope this will help others as well.

    PS I also received a reply today from Epson support that the latest Windows update has affected most of their products and they have escalated their support to find a fix as soon as they can.

    Thank you for the update. I'm hesitating about the roll back of the windows 10 build. Let's see how it is going next.

    I will stick with Vuescan for now.

    I got advice from another forum to run Epson scan as administrator*. (Right click Epson scan/run as administrator). I tried a few scans and clicked in other windows and then went back into Epson scan and so far its working normally without crashing. Its too early to tell yet, but I will keep you posted. In the meantime others can try running Epson scan as administrator to see if that helps.
