Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?
For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.
I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it. The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive. I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.
This is really strange.
Can someone help?

2018-07-03T03:46:21+00:00 While I realize this isn't exactly a helpful response, it seems the issue just went away for me. OneDrive randomly came back and has been working for a few days now. I'm on build 18.116.0610.0002 and Windows 10 1803 build 17134.112. Windows update hasn't had anything useful in a month or so other than updates for Windows Defender definitions, so that isn't it. I'm not sure if it's a permanent thing, but just wanted to let people know that Microsoft may have finally fixed the issue. Not sure though.

2018-07-01T13:02:14+00:00 While I recognize this remains an ongoing issue, I have found the following is the easiest as well as the longest lasting fix of all that I have read up on.
When you notice your Microsoft OneDrive shortcut is missing, realize your OneDrive has stopped syncing - no longer loads with windows or you get a missing error when you click on your folder, follow these instructions.
Make sure you can view hidden files.
Go to C :
Go to Users
Go to your user profile
Go to AppData
Go to Local
Go to Microsoft
Go to OneDrive
Go to the folder with the most recent build.
Final the OneDriveSetup.exe file and double click - run it right from this location.
(Do not remove or do anything your existing OneDrive)
When I do this it will go through a quick install. No data is lost this way and it works perfectly as though nothing ever happened afterward. It also avoids you needing to uninstall or do anything else.
Note -
This is the only fix I have been able to find. I do have to point out that any ideas to use uninstall and reinstall most likely will not work. When I was looking into this, I even went to the extent of formatting my entire pc and doing a full reinstall of my windows. (I allowed the new Windows 10 install to load the most recent version automatically.) This lasted about a week before it went back to disconnecting.
As everyone else has said, this is terrible that we are forced to do research like this and they need to find out the issue and fix it! Especially considering this is a paid service.
P.S. I did find the use of Microsoft Store App version and website version remain unaffected. I would use the Store App, however, it is very unfriendly when it comes to cutting-pasting and moving things around which I like to do with the PC Exe version of Onedrive.
Hope this helps someone anyway.

2018-06-19T03:49:16+00:00 I had the exact same experience. My recommendation is to completely uninstall OneDrive and delete the three directors that you referenced above. Then download from the OneDrive website the latest Product Ring version (see below or google "OneDrive Download Production Ring") which is the 18.091.0506.0006 build.
This is what I did and it has been working property since June 5.
Thanks for the link for the 18.091.0506.0006 build. The Onedrive.com site is serving up the older buggy version that I can not install over the version I had installed here in Windows7 which was a slightly newer build. The issue was I could not even uninstall it.
The 18.091.0506.0006 was able to upgrade and install properly but just to make sure I will uninstall One Drive and reinstall it. I wished the heck Microsoft would have a standalone uninstaller for Onedrive just for these cases.

2018-06-01T22:57:10+00:00 Hi EricJM17,
To know effectively the reason why you can't launch OneDrive, I would like to know the following information below:
- How did you reinstall OneDrive?
- Can you see the OneDrive icon in the left pane of File Explorer? If so, what happens when you try to access it?
To check if OneDrive is still installed on your computer, do these steps:
- Click the Windows logo (Start button).
- Click System.
- Click Apps & features.
- Look for Microsoft OneDrive.
If you cannot see OneDrive on the list, we need to download OneDrive again so that we can reinstall it. To download OneDrive, click here.
I am looking forward to your response.
