Hello,

0xC1900101 is generic error code and points to driver incompatibility while you opt to upgrade. You need to read the dialog, which likely came before this error message. There should be additional information with the detail. The dialog will tell you what devices are having a problem. That is the one you need to get a new driver for.

Once you fixed the driver(s) mentioned with detail, the error will no longer persist.

Hope this helps!

I just want to tell you how i solved the Windows 10 1803 Update problem on my PC after I've spent many hours and days trying really "everything" except a new full install. It always ended with a 0xc1900101 error.

I've found the helpful hint on

    https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/25536-windows-10-64-bit-update-1703-1803-fails-0xc1900101-0x30017.html

I just followed the instructions there:

    • I've set the listed services to automatc (I couldn't find all the listed services, just most of them)
    • I've downloaded and started Farbar Recovery Scan Tool as administrator (afterwards I've checked the log files on the surface, but I - as a non-expert - didn't find any helpful information)
    • I've uninstalled VeraCrypt (my partitions are normally encrypted, but I decrypted all of them before the unsuccessful Windows updates)
    • I've started the update process by starting setup.exe on the USB stick I've created with the Media Creation Tool

Result: finally I've got Windows 1803!! I don't know it, but maybe it helps some of you too.
