Your PIN is no longer available

When I try to boot into command line, it asks for the administrator password, something that I do not have. any other suggestions?

I am unable to do this.  Anything I do brings me back to 

"something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again.

I click it, and it comes back to the above.

I tried holding the shift key to restart in safe mode, but it comes right back to the same "something happened..." prompt. 

Any ideas anyone?

Per microsoft suggestion, I did a clean boot prior to this happening.

Thanks to anyone who can help - I'm days and days into this now with no luck logging into the computer to begin troubleshooting

I was able to use this to get to a solution.

1. When on the login screen, I held down shift and selected restart from the power menu and clicked on Restart Anyway (still holding shift)
2. From the oltions on the next screen I selected Troubleshoot
3. From the options on the next screen, i selected Advanced Options
4. From these I selected Command Prompt

5 In the command prompt i typed:

c:

6. Then i typed:

Cd Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

7. Then i typed (be warned: this is bad if you do it in the wrong folder!):

rmdir /s *

8. Then i typed:

exit

9. then i rebooted the computer 

on login it shows my login and requested my password (in my case, for my ms account)

it then prompted me again to set up face id and/or pin

upon login, everything was as it was before

Before you had setup a PIN, you needed to have a password setup. So, sign in with your password then do the following:

Delete NGC folder and add a new PIN code

Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC.

In NGC folder delete all the files. To do so you must be logged as Administrator.

delete the temp folder within the NGC folder

Now go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.

Click Add a PIN and add a new PIN code for your account.

Now the PIN login should be working again.

Switch to local account and add a PIN code

Option 2:

try to switch to local account, and the add a PIN code. Here’s how to do that:

Go to Settings > Accounts and locate your account.

Click Sign in with a Local Account instead.

Follow the instructions to set up a local account.

Sign out and sign in with your local account.

Now add a PIN code.

After you’ve added your PIN code you need to locate your account under the Accounts section in Settings.

Choose Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead.

That’s it, PIN login should be working now for your account
