It's so interesting that this thread has been going on 2 years, is monitored by MS, and they still can't fix such a simple, universal problem. Do better MS.
Having Bluetooth Stuttering Issues on Windows 10
As of recent, when connecting any pair of bluetooth headphones or devices, I would get stuttering problems where when using bluetooth headphones, the audio would frequently cut in and out randomly, and it would frequently disconnect, even when it was fully charged. And yes, I've tried to fix the issue by disabling audio enhancements, but it hasn't helped at all. Additionally, I've had problems with other bluetooth devices where they would also frequently disconnect. Is there a fix to these problems?

2019-12-11T10:33:29+00:00 FIX!
Found at MadWebskills and worked perfectly for me!
Step 1: Press the Windows button just beside the Alt and Spacebar buttons.
Step 2: Type "Control Panel" and open Control Panel
**Step 3:**Under"Hardware and Sound" click "View Devices and Printers"
Step 4: Find your device from the list and right click it.
**Step 5:**Click "Properties" then select "Service"
Step 6: From this menu you will see an option called "Hands-free telephony". Untick this.
Step 7: Hit "apply".
Step 8: If your device is connected, now disconnect and reconnect/connect. Device should proceed to run normally.
[Instant fix for me and worked straight away. Computer seems to decide the device is a hands free calling device instead of a headset and incorrectly reads it.] Hope this worked as easily for you too!

2020-07-18T02:40:46+00:00 I believe I found a fix just now. I also was having the audio shutters on both bluetooth headphones that I own. This is what I did:
- Go down to the taskbar & to the sound icon on the right-bottom. Right-click to bring up the menu & select "Open Sound Settings"
- Go to where it saids "Sound Control Panel" on the far right & click it.
3. There should be two of the same bluetooth headphone devices that you want to play audio from, A Headset & Headphone version. Disabled "Headphone" device & leave "Headset" device enabled.
- Test the audio of the Headset version to see if it works from here as well by right clicking the headset device & click Test.
5. Go back to the taskbar & click the sound icon. You should be able to select the Headset version of your Headphones & the audio should be good to go.

2019-11-25T04:59:06+00:00 On Windows 10:
Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Devices and Printers --> (your speaker name)
Then click the services tab, and uncheck "Serial Port (SPP) 'LWACP')
So far, it hasn't stuttered. Hope this helped because I was also fed up with the constant cutting in and out from my Megaboom 3.

2019-07-08T17:08:15+00:00 Tried all the solutions in this thread - none of them worked for me.
In my case, i had to use a workaround - doesn't solve the problem but does make life a bit easier.
I had the same headset paired with both my laptop and pixel 3. Even though it wouldn't be active with my phone when paired with the laptop - the phone still seems to be "pinging it" - causing a stutter every 3 seconds or so.
the workaround was to turn off Bluetooth on my phone when using the headset with my laptop. This works for me, as i'm never in a situation where i need it active on both.
Not an ideal fix, and not even an acceptable fix if you need both devices on Bluetooth at the same time - but worth testing to see if it at least fixes the stutter.
