Hi,
I have older AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, Asus MB, after installation of KB4056892 the system doesn't boot, it only shows the Windows logo without animation and nothing more. After several failed boots it do roll-back then it shows error 0x800f0845. Unfortunately, it seems it's not easy to disable the automatic updates without gpedit tweaks, so it tries installing and rolling-back the update over and over. The sfc /scannow shows no problem, in-place upgrade also doesn't seem to help. I can try full reinstall, but I doubt it will change anything. It seems like the update is binary incompatible with my old CPU. I understand that making the machine unbootable is the best protection from remote exploitation, but I would rather have the OS working. Especially if my CPU is not vulnerable to the Meltdown attack and the MS mitigation attempts for Spectre is more than questionable. I could find only some German and Italian people reporting the same issue (well the CPU is quite pre-historic and the KB update is very fresh), but no info / acknowledgment from the MS so far. I have Czech localization. Could anybody provide more information?

if instead the Update is in the "waiting for restart" state, it should be already listed in the uninstallable updates so you can uninstall it

Yes, but you can usually stop the looping, if you check a few things, a few times before you reboot.
It's quick to use System Restore (Restore Point), if the device does not automatically recover.
Especially, after using a System Restore (Restore Point) or if the device Auto-rolls back, it's critical to stop the looping: see if you can catch the update with the Hide/Show troubleshooter , check 'Control Panel-Programs and Features->view installed updates' , see if it is there (uninstall if it shows there); use dism /online /get-packages from within windows and see what update packages are there (remove the offending package if found), then manually check for updates and check for the 'loop causing update' again with dism.....
or if unbootable try dism in the recovery environment see:

Well, I waited a bit longer than you did.
Restored the system from a REDO image backup (1/16/2018) managed to block KB4056892, then rechecked to insure KB4056892 was blocked.
Other updates were installed and then....................
KB4056892 attempted to install although it showed blocked.
Attempted to remove package with dism, however dism did NOT find that package. You can't remove what isn't there.
Today I once again restored from REDO image backup (1/17/2018).
Blocked KB4056892.
Verified that KB4056892 showed as blocked.
Other updates installed after which.......
The still blocked KB4056892 downloaded and attempted to install yet again.
I guess that the timing is super critical.
I didn't know skeet shooting lessons were a Win-10 requirement.
Have you run wushowhide yet? Sorry if this is old news but I haven't read many other posts. It doesn't delete it but stops WU from running it, even though it is in the update list - a temporary fix which lets you keep the PC running.

Yes, I've deleted it twice now and I see its waiting to reload after I shut down... I can't figure out how to block it. Microsoft was no help on the phone. They put me on hold forever.
