I have older AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, Asus MB, after installation of KB4056892 the system doesn't boot, it only shows the Windows logo without animation and nothing more. After several failed boots it do roll-back then it shows error 0x800f0845. Unfortunately, it seems it's not easy to disable the automatic updates without gpedit tweaks, so it tries installing and rolling-back the update over and over. The sfc /scannow shows no problem, in-place upgrade also doesn't seem to help. I can try full reinstall, but I doubt it will change anything. It seems like the update is binary incompatible with my old CPU. I understand that making the machine unbootable is the best protection from remote exploitation, but I would rather have the OS working. Especially if my CPU is not vulnerable to the Meltdown attack and the MS mitigation attempts for Spectre is more than questionable. I could find only some German and Italian people reporting the same issue (well the CPU is quite pre-historic and the KB update is very fresh), but no info / acknowledgment from the MS so far. I have Czech localization. Could anybody provide more information?

I'm running W10 Home and "hid" the update and so far it has not caused me a problem (4 starts without a problem) - it is still in the list for updates and I am sure it is ready to pounce if I let it.
Hope Microsoft come up with a patch soon. All other updates seem to be downloading without problem but I am unsure what effect freezing this update will have on future related ones.

I've got an AMD Athlon too. Had to reinstall Windows 10 pro. Have you dled the KB4056892 yet? I thought Microsoft was blocking this update, but it's showing up on my list. So I quickly shut down, because I don't want the same issue again.

That's the sort of symptom that always makes me uninstall an update, uninstall Hyper-V, re-install the update and then after testing proves that the update is no longer a factor that could be causing poor performance, reinstall Hyper-V. I have had to do this frequently, especially when trying preview builds. So, if you want something to try and you do have Hyper-V enabled, I can suggest trying my workaround. Others claim that simply in order to get the update installed at all they have needed to turn off Virtualization completely via a switch in the BIOS, then doing that would be a related workaround.

Just checking back on the status of this issue. I used wushowhide to pause updates and uninstalled KB4056892. I'm hoping someone on here will let us know when it is safe to resume updates again. Just glad I figured out what happened and that resources like this exist to help us all. I was unable to use restore point or recovery disk or recovery partition. I had to do a full re-install of Win10. And then 2 installations showed up, as if my original was now visible. I didn't like this, so since I had already used Ubuntu Live to recover files, I reformatted, partitioned and did one more clean install of Win10. It tried to install KB4056892 several times, but I was able to uninstall it before any reboots happened each time, then found out how to pause using wushowhide. A lot of work and a lot of my time wasted by this faulty update.
I have a new AMD Athlon II X4 620 processor and the update KB4056892 will not let me access a program I must use daily. I uninstalled the update and my computer is back to running perfectly. Also the update put a huge load on my CPU making it run at 75% utilization, many times 100% and made my NEW computer run SLOW. HEY MICROSOFT.. I will continue to uninstall KB4056892 until you fix it.. This is bull s#*%. Please stop updating my computer with this BAD update.
