Modem Dongle not Working On Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Hi.

When I upgraded to 1709 (16299.19) I couldn't get my Huawei E3372 Modem to connect!

Before the upgrade I had no problem and with no drivers it could connect to the internet.

I have done everything that I think of, Unfortunately NO LUCK!

What is the solution?

2 Solution from Huawei : 

  1. Downgrade version of microsoft to the build 1703. You do a search how to downgrade your windows.
  2. Put a static IP on the network adapter of the stick. See image below.

Update from Microsoft will fix the problem end of November..

    Hi,

    We received a message from Huawei with a temp solution and a date from microsoft :

    "Just got feedback from our HQ, please see below and the attached for the solutions, you can follow the attached to roll back to the previous version to fix this issue temporary, or modify static IP to temporary fix this issue .Microsoft will be releasing the patch around Nov 28,2017."

    I hope you'll find the solution and share it here :)

    Summary to date

    My OS Win 10 Pro x 64;  WiFi Internet - Huawai 4G Dongle. 

    All was working fine under Windows 1703, however after the "Creator Fall Update 1709" internet connection failed.  For the brief time I had 1709 everything else appeared to work OK except the Internet Connection.  Having spent sometime with MS Support Technician on a one to one basis we have been unable to resolve the issue at this stage.  Windows was rolled back to 1703 and is all working fine.  MS have requested I contact them again in one month.  Hopefully they will have a fix by then. 

    If 1703 is not working for you then you have other problems outside this post.
