Error Code: 0x80072f76 0x20017. Windows media creation tool.

I've disabled the defender and other software for malware and virus protection and tried moving the executable to desktop and then launching it. I don't have an idea whats wrong with it! Any help is much appreciated.

I was able to solve it on a 2016 Lenovo laptop by disabling antivirus until next reboot and pointing my DNSs to Google Ones.

Hope this helps someone else as well.

Hi, yes my windows was updated before this new install , I tried the media creation tool but I got the above error so I have chosen update windows tab that has downloaded the new creator call with its latest build, then I downloaded the iso file that I am hoping to use to use to update my other PC which is not up to date so I am not sure if the iso is expected to work.

There is small utility called upgrade this PC from Microsoft, it search the PC then upgrade to the latest build but I have not tried it.

Check your windows updates, if you have pending system updates it wont let you install as you have to be at the latest version of your current OS before upgrading.
